    Hi,
Does anyone know where i can buy some? The floor of the outside boiler is leaking smoke out the sides and i think this is the probably the problem. its very worn on the bottom. Im in the Celbridge area. Failing that is it much to pay someone to fix?
    Thanks,
    Mick

Looks like a very ill-maintained boiler. Needs a bit of love.

The flange gasket is leaking. Also the hydraulic jack seal could be leaking. Electrical wiring gone brittle & requires replacing with HR flex.

What's the white stuff? Looks like snow!!

It was like this when we moved in. The white stuff is the smoke coming out the bottom. I think i need a new boiler.

Jaysus, that is bad. If that is coming from the boiler I would seriously not use the boiler. Products of combustion, especially in that state can be fatal.
From the condition, I would certainly agree about the possibility of replacing it. Grant Vortex would be my first choice.

Aye, new boiler time, that does not look healthy.

Thanks. So how much to install a new boiler or if i bought one, how much would it be to get someone to take out the old one and put the new one in

you probably would be better getting your plumber to purchase and fit for you as they will be able to get boiler at trade price and grant vortex would be my first choice as well

It would really depend upon the installation. Where the flue is going, is it straight out through the wall at low level, or into a clay liner that will need to be lined (€500 part cost for condensing boilers), can the remote acting fire valve be installed correctly with ease or re-routing of oil line, new circulating pump required, will the system be powerflushed, electrical switched fused spurs, is there a drain within 3 meters for the condensate or will a condensate soak away be required?

All these play a part if you wish to have it done correctly or you can disconnect 2 pipes, stick in a new boiler & if she fires its a good 'un type of installation.

To do properly & a low level flue can be done, with good quality pump Grundfos 25/60, etc. with a powerflush, properly around €2,500 for the Vortex. Cheaper for a less quality boiler.
