Watching Bluray on HD Ready TV

Hi, Would a 32" HD Ready Tv be good enough for watching Blu ray? I'm considering buying a Blu ray player but don't particularly want to splash out on a new Tv too:( I have heard that on smaller screens (like 32") Full HD is not really necessary. Anyone know if that's correct? Thanks.
