    Hi all,
Audi waterford are attempting to Break the World Record for the longest parade of Audi’s in convoy in the world.

The current record is held in Germany and is 282 Audi’s that travelled successfully for 3 kms, maintaining no more that a 2 car length gap between each Audi.

We have a 9km route picked out around close to the dealership on the cork road in waterford and on Sunday 16th will intend to break this.

We have chosen 4 charities one to represent each of the “4 rings of Audi” and all monies raised will be divided 4 ways between each charity.

    The four charities are

    Temple Street Children’s Hospital
    Respect
    Waterford Hospice Movement
Solas Centre – Cancer Respite for the South East.

You can register you and your Audi for an application form by phoning 01-2916373 or rsvp@audievent.ie

It's Audi drivers we are talking about here they will be all stuck up each others hole :D Also if you plan it right you could break the guiness world record for pigeon cooooooos :p

I jest best of luck with it,I admit when i first heard of it i thought clever advertising ploy for Audi Waterford but good to see some charities will benefit.

Is there a cut off date for registration?

I think it's a pretty cool idea if I'm honest.

Must bag an Audi for that weekend and head along.

someone will jump out in front of them and get in the record books for the longest shunt

This will not be easy as it may sound, making up the numbers is the easy part but driving will be incredibly difficult.

Best of luck with it, looking forward to seeing it in action. ;)

its for very worth while causes in fairness and agree very good ploy by audi ireland and audi waterford to get massive advertisement, don't think there any cut off but you need to register via the email as they send you out a sponsorship pack, i'd say to be honest it will be done on the motorway just up from the dealership in the direction of cork so there should'nt be a back up off traffic

The kind of 'arseholes' that give up their afternoon to help raise money for four charities, yeah.

go for a multiple world record - most amount of illegal sun visors and knockoff alloys in one place at one time,

On the plus side the roads around the rest of the country will be great and you'll definitely get let out of junctions.

Dont forget the smog cloud, blotting out whole villages Pompeii style and the apocalyptic sound of 300 4 cylinder TDI's beating in unison.

Good marketing, glad the charities are getting something, but you can't blame people having a pop at the grey and silver diesel audiliceous brigade!

I can see the NRA being all over this unless the road is closed to other vehicles, also doubt Audi will want their name associated with anything going wrong. Could they not instead take a closed carpark and see how many can be parked end to end?

The whole thing reminds me of that haulage company marketing video where they parked a truck on the driving lane of a motorway causing a motorist to get clipped by a passing car, there's a time and a place for records, the public roads isn't one of them.

it was being organised way too fast so maybe there holding off and sorting things out behind the scene's, they would'nt give any details away as to why it was being postponed

Yes with it properly organised with road closures it will be a success, closing the road will make it easier to break the record and safer, should make more money for charity too.
