Can anyone tell me what the CSS is I know its adjusted constantly for competitions based on the scores of the competitors, but for example if the CSS is 75, normal Par is 72 and my handicap is 18 I shoot 90 then does my handicap come down for every stroke I am under the CSS of 75, so down by 0.9?

CSS is effectively par for the day.

So for handicapping purposes CSS is all thats important, Par means nothing (though obviously its used to calculate CSS)

That's from elm greens website. It's a pretty good breakdown of handicapping.
