irish teaching second level

    Hi im a leaving certificate student and i was wondering if anyone had any advice on the best way to get into irish teaching at secondary school level, where would be the best place to do the Hdip?

    You get your degree first, in whatever subject you want to teach (making sure the Teaching Council recognise it), then look for the PGDE, which will soon be going to a two year course. There is no 'best' one, wherever is nearest to you and the school you are doing your practice in.

    There is also the option of concurrent teacher training in certain subjects.

    Be aware the job situation is hideous and getting worse.
