eFibre placement of router

Hi My eircom line comes into the front of the house in the hall and I have alarm-type cable under the carpet taking it under the stairs where my DSL modem/router lives. With eFibre is it possible to reuse this wiring or does a new bit of (coax?) cable need to be laid between the master box and the existing router position?…
