MAC Studio Sculpt Foundation

    Hey guys,

I recently found that the foundation I use everyday wasn't sitting right on my skin anymore. Perhaps I've tanned a bit over the last few weeks or maybe it was just time for a change. I had never used any Mac products before as my usual go-to counters have always been Urban Decay and Estee Lauder. So I said this time I'd give them a go.

I was very pleasantly surprised by how perfectly they matched a foundation to my skin tone. I'm so pale that I was certain they would not have a good shade for me. However, here's the problem: It doesn't last AT ALL. If I put it on and go to work I'll need to top it up within 3-4 hours. I use Benefit's porefessional primer but it makes no difference. The only thing I found that somewhat increases the longevity of it on my skin is topping it with MUFE's HD powder. Has anybody else found Studio Sculpt wears off quickly?

I'm a little disappointed. Also any suggestions on a new primer very welcome!

I would use the studio sculpt foundation every day, I would apply with my hands as I find the heat of my hands really helps it "sit" into my skin and I'd just buff it out then with a foundation brush. Underneath I would use either benefit pore fessional primer (no likey) or the gosh primer (favourite!) and over I would use the translucent powder from mac and my foundation wouldn't budge all day.

I use it with a stipple brush and once I set it with powder it's fine. It didn't last if I used it with a regular foundation brush but if I buff a small amount in with the stipple brush it's fine. I was as surprised as you that Mac had a foundation that was pale enough for me.

What shade did you guys get? I got 4 as it's what I use in my makeup kit, I got an NW 15 and 35 and NC 15 and 42, and both the 15s leave my face a lot darker than the rest of me. I know mac do lighter shades now I'm wondering if they do 5 or even 10 in studio sculpt

I use NC15 and it's perfect. Not sure if they do it in the lighter shades.

I use NW15 and it's a perfect match. I still need to find a way to increase how long it stays on. I must invest in a good primer!

I use a stippling brush too & find it much better than any other brush for Studio Sculpt. I used to have the same problem of it wearing off quickly but just lately started applying it by dotting it with my finger around my face, stippling it out for more coverage, then buffing it where needed. Lasts much better (and looks better) for me with this application. :)

Love the stipple brush and SS combo! I stipple the foundation on and buff it in, finish with Mineralize Skinfinish powder.
