We had a visit by a traveller the other day looking to sell us the usual junk, anyways the man got out of his car and the dog went runnnig over to him wagging his tail ready to greet him however the traveller panicked and jumped so the dog growled at him and the oul lad called the dog back. This dog is of no danger to anyone but I was just wondering in a simular situation to this if the dog had of bit this man where would anyone stand? Looking back over the incident on the c.c.t.v was quiet funny now!:)

Yes his a right dog, will deter anyone coming around like that again and his only 9 months old. The traveller had the neck to say to the oul lad to keep that f-ing dog under control, the oul lad just told him to think twice before getting out of the car so quickly the next time..

Reminds me of a day years ago when a traveler called to our old house. He jumped out of the van opened the big heavy wrought iron gates and started to walk in.My mother told him to stop and go back to the van. He continued into the yard. The dog was inside barking like mad. Granny opened the door and let the dog out.:P A huge alsatian dog:) the Traveler ran out and banged the gates shut and drove off. That evening I got home from school and opened the gates and the tops of two fingers fell down where he trapped them running away.:D:D

    Is that true?!?!?!?!?!??!?!

My brother-in-law went down a boreen a few weeks ago. Was visiting a farm yard. Realized he was gone wrong and had to reverse into another yard to turn around. He went back down the road to the right farm. Parked and got out of the car. Next think this jeep came flying into the yard, guy gets out and starts yelling at my bro-in-law that he KILLED his sheep dog when he reversed into his yard. My bro-in-law KNEW he couldnt have done this (he'd have felt the bump and was going really slow/using mirrors etc) and this guy opened the boot of his jeep - there was a dead dog in there!!!!!!!!! MY bro-in-L. reckons the dog was dead for many days   and this guy was demanding that he pay for the valuable sheep dog he killed!!!!!!!!!!!

Id prefer to take me chances with the dog rather than get my fingers caught in a gate :P.
