2m because I feel always have to let it wilt a bit and yes I would be going nice the slow.I see some people bailing and you think they are going down the road. How many knife would I need to use there is a bank of 15 and I want it fairly long but still be able to pike it. Would 4 or 5 knifes do a nice chop..........

Leave off the outside knife at each side and just have every second one up after that. Should have plenty chop at that.

Stress, is the 7740 screwed? Are you on hilly ground? She would get well tightened coming up to a full bale!!

All our ground is all flat only one field has a small increase but it is not a hill.I would only be doing 62 acres a year with wide swards and going nice and slow.and making a small chop.I would say she would be fine.how would she be bailing hay. ..she has been tested she is 105 HP.

See few locals, one has new mchale on a 6400 valmet of some kind, would guess it to be 100hp model.not much more.he only has it for hay/straw tho.but seems todo fine.but he sits very low behind it,wouldn't like that.
Another has an old krone behind a 7740.on hilly land seem to make great silage no problem.
So possible would say,but only for yourself were you could make the rows and chop to suit, and stay off tricky bits.
I know our massey, going up a good hill making a good bale,140hp.it's def no problem never dies, but you can just notice the smoke, coming out that bit faster and straight up,when bales near done.lol

Have a turned up JD 6506 here on a vicon rf 135 she's making about 140 at the shaft and takes it all on some of our steeper ground!! Some bark outta her when bale nearly finished and she's wrapping the previous one!!!

7740 will handle it grand, just take your time, and as for hay, lads have baled with an F550 with a 390T, same lads were hitting 28km/h at hay last year, as brief a period as it was!

Now that wasn't on the 390T, that was a 716, more a 'mine is bigger than yours' kinda job, there were 2 lads in the field baling!
