RSA comes under remit of Ombudsman

Having checked the Charter, I'm still not sure whether this is the best forum for this thread, but here goes anyway.

It hasn't been discussed on Boards to date, as far as I can see.
RSA comes under remit of Ombudsman

The Ombudsman (Amendment) Act, 2012 brings over 180 additional public bodies under the remit of the Ombudsman with effect from 1 May 2013. The Ombudsman can examine complaints in relation to the 'administrative actions' of these public bodies which occur on or after 1 May 2013 only.

As the RSA is one of the public bodies covered by the legislation, if you feel that you have been unfairly treated or are not satisfied with our decision in your case, it is open to you to contact the Office of the Ombudsman. By law, from 1 May 2013, the Ombudsman can investigate complaints about any of our administrative actions or procedures as well as delays or inaction in your dealings with us.
My understanding of the way the Ombudsman works is that you must have been personally affected by the actions or inactions of a public body.

What difference, if any, will this development make?

    Interesting.

The current situation regarding the Driver Certificate of Proffessional Competency issuance, overseen by the RSA,could well provide something for the Ombudsman to chew on....;)
