two cut strategy

I have silage ground which is just about ready to cut. I was wondering if i was to cut it now instead of letting it bulk up would I make up the extra on the second cut in late august/september.

Cut now, 65-70 units N cut again august w/end and graze in mid sept. Fert the life out of it. Land is too valuable to be taking big cuts.

Too late now.You're gonna have bulk now no matter what. Last week was the week. This one looks like a write off in most places.
