    Hey guys

SO my car is going for nct and thursday and I have the car sold pending a pass so would really like it too without putting anymore money into it.

I took it to tyre centre in cork and he said there was wear on inside and outside due to underinflation in front tyres but all teh tyres met the 1.6 mm min in the middle of all tyres. He said it could eb close but should just get an advise and it .

Anyone have any experience with bring tyres that have inside/outside wear but good tread in the middle?
I head its the middle 3/4 or something wear the tread is measured so might get away with it>?

Any help or experience would be great

tyres would only be a visual re-test, so i'd just risk it.

All you can really do is bring it and see if it passes. At least then you'll have the test sheet to prove that it passed on everything bar the tyres, if it fails that is.

1.6 mm across the middle 2/3 of the tyre I think. Retest will be free if it only needs new tyres.

Whether they pass or not, I find if I'm asking myself will they pass an NCT they need to be changed.

I had a tyre fail recently that was worn on the inside and outside but fine in the middle.

Also got an advisory for all tyres being more than 6 years old.

Still I would just send it in as is, as others have stated the retest is free*

*provided your car only fails on tyres :D
