    Would the rings be around the equator?
    And therefore, would we only see them from here looking south?
    Or would we see them at all from this latitude?

    I wonder if in the dim and distant past or the far flung future if the earth had or will have rings?

    I wonder what the solar accretion disc would have looked like from here too?

    From the equator the rings would appear as a narrow band across the sky through the zenith as the rings would be edge-on. The lighting effect would be interesting at the equinoxes when the Sun would shine directly through the ring plane.
