This notorious roundabout will be no more soon now that those machines have moved in before the weekend.

Next stop, the Headford Rd. roundabout where it is badly wanted.

I'd say so, seems to be what they're doing with the others they've dug up.

I hate that roundabout absolutely, won't miss it a bit.

Seen an awful lot of people stopping on it lately (aside from the traffic lights).

They want to admire the beauty of it before it is obliterated

How long is expected they will be working on it?

Takes all sorts I suppose :D

I'll admire the beauty of it's destruction, from the safety of the inevitable delays...

Often had to cross it as a pedestrian. Lunacy.

Its only preliminary works for now and the real work starts in earnest in June/July working at night also.

For those interested, here is a PDF of the new junction.
As for the headford rd roundabout that plan was turned down by the council due to huge complaints from residents and businesses.

That was changed some time ago to a traffic light junction. Its the one with the G Hotel and the Huntsman.

Passed it on Saturday morning and the traffic is bonkers. Apparently they will be working on it until October!

They got rid of the entrance to the shopping centre near Supermacs?
So from the looks of it, all traffic has to exit down the other end to go towards the headford road. God I hope there's lights down that end
