Help please!! Cant get rid of an admin account

Basically I bought my Mac through Ebay second hand, he cleared the drive but the account is still logged in with a password. I reinstalled the OS but Im wondering if I did it wrong cause its still logged in. The account is an admin account so cant create another one to delete, and its becoming a problem as i cant install…

Do a clean install. Delete the Hard drive first. The option is under Utilities in the menu bar once you've launched the installer.

If the account is an admin account, then you should be able to create another admin account. Just make sure you have logged out of the old admin account before deleting it. Also what OS is it?
