Every few weeks I'm getting a flashing red "Look out Warning" light on the boiler. The boiler will not fire. It doesn't lose pressure . Bar is at 1.5. Not sign of the safety valve having blown water out.

For the boiler to work again I have to reset it and it fires again.

You will need to determine why it is locking out. NTC, PTC, flame, gas valve, coil, gas pressure, flue, etc.
What light code does it have?

    It is Red light.

If solid red light & not flashing, then it is ignition shut down. Most likely solenoid coil or gas valve or similar related.

It's definately a red Flashing light. Are they a bad boiler? Would I be better fitting a more modern one?

If it is flashing then it should only be the safety thermostat shutdown. Check the PTC to see if it is tripped & what resistance is it reading. If ok, check circulating pump. Is the system heating ok? How long before it locks out.

For the cost of it doing yourself, I would stick in an Ariston Clas with the outdoor weather compensator. Set up the boiler to suit. Stick it in Auto mode & enjoy.

Apologies, I thought you were Robbie.G who is an RGI. You will need an Registered Gas Installer to resolve the issue and/or replace the boiler.
    Where about are you?

I'm in Mid Louth. I'm was a plumber . I work on a different field now. The boiler is in my house. Apparently they are giving trouble in the estate and people have had to replace them.

System heating is ok. This only happens every couple of weeks.

Plumbers are not allowed work on gas appliances, unless they are also RGI's.
Even in your own house you still have to be an RGI to work inside the boiler. A potential has explosion doesn't mind if it blows the houses & people around you.

Robbie.G is in your area. If you send him a PM, he might give you some love.
