    Is it straightforward?
I've cleared my car loan so just have a credit card (which is currently IN credit)
No direct debits coming from the account so thinking now is the perfect time to change.

Did anyone have any difficulties with wages not going through on time etc?

Unless your payroll dept are totally incompetent you will be fine to switch and should do so. You can keep your BoI credit card by the way if you wish.

How does keeping the credit card work? Currently I pay off the balance 100% by direct debit - would I have to opt for another option? Suppose signing up for a PTSB credit card wouldn't be a big hassle - I don't need a huge limit & I always pay it each month fully.

You either pay it via your PTSB account and online banking, or have BOI create a direct debit for your new PTSB account.
