Forged Alliance Forever is awesome - anyone else playing it?

Is anyone else here playing Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance Forever?
I started playing it about 6 weeks ago, and think its amazing.

I had played Supreme Commander single player, but couldn't ever get into the multiplayer.
I recently heard about FAF. The community has spent ages re-balancing the game and polishing the gameplay.
They've built a new multiplayer lobby system.

I played a little Starcraft2 recently, but I love the massive strategic scale of FAF.

I saw no posts about it on this forum, so I'm wondering if anyone else here is playing it?
If not, and if you love large scale strategy games like Total Annihilation used to be, I'd advise taking a look at it.

I'm looking forward to Planetary Annihilation too, but I think FAF has set a very high bar; cant believe I didnt hear of it earlier.

It's fantastic, myself and 2 mates play it. 2 of us are rubbish but one of the lads is pure class at it. He's from Longford and he's considered one of the best Supp Comm players in the world.

His play at endgame here is a sight to behold. (depony)

Didn't know that - that's cool to hear!

I'm still learning the ropes myself, about 1250, trying to improve, but really enjoying it.
Still cant get my head around how the better players manage to eco while also constantly attacking...

    Great comm drop!
    I love watching Gyle's casts, too :)

You wouldn't be Vexy by any chance?

I've been playing FAF since January 2013 and I'm totally hooked.

Yes, FAF is pure brilliant. It's not your typical Real Time Strategy game - which I don't really like - they're more RTT (real time tactics). FAF has the strategic element and has brilliant scope.

One of the great things about FAF, is the ratings system, so you can play against players of your own level.

You can also watch replays of games you've been in, so see how your opposition played, which really helps you to improve you game. You can also watch replays from any player or map via the online vault.

If you think you might be interested, here's a link to Gyle's casts on Youtube, where you can see examples of games with some commentary:

FAF has a great community and you can access lots of online resources to get you started, such as:

    and

FA costs about 10 Euro to buy on Gamersgate or Steam. FAF is free.

    Happy gaming folks! :P

I just started getting into this again myself. Brilliant game that sets the standard for RTS if it can be called that. For a game that's 6 years old it has aged very well graphically too.
