Yes, Donna Summer's "This time I know it's for real" was the theme music
from RTE's fashion show, "Head 2 Toe", present by the very stylish Barbara McMahon.

That's half the answer, now to win the Calor Houswife of the Year Yellowpack Hamper,
can you identify the show the second track was used on?

A clue is available, at a cost of 10p, or by posting up a picture of a cringe-inducing celebrity
Mullet haircut from years gone by.

Was it Jake and the Fatman? Or does that programme exist only in my head? :o

If it existed, I think that was about two Cops - one of whom was a bit chubby.

It did exist-Jake was a hot guy and the Fatman had the uglyhandsome dog.

    Alas,it's not the answer.
This police ...man has 427lbs worth of more than just fat and muscle;).

The only other Detective I can think of who might weigh in at 427lbs is Sharky from Sharky and George (The Crimebusters of the Sea :D) but I think that was a lot later then the 70s.

It is pretty obscure - I'd wager if 100 people who watched TV in the 70s were asked to name a very heavy policeman, 99 would say Frank Cannon, played by William Conrad, who in the 80s also appeared as Fatman in Jake and the Fatman.
In a very long TV career he was also noted for his narration skills particularly in The Fugitive and Buck Rogers in the 25th Century.

Ok, i got one for ya............

name this detective series from the early 80s

clues..wealthy businessman who spends his spare time solving murder cases his surname is the same as a major US city, cheesey as hell it only lasted one or two series.

Prize for the first correct answer..a romantic weekend for two in Syria (comes with free gas masks just in case of chemical warfare)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,649 ✭✭✭✭The Princess Bride

I could visualise his face as soon as I read your post!
    It's Milwaukee Houston.
I used to think he was very handsome:o. It was actually quite good,if I remember. Then again, all those American shows were good back then, as it seemed so different and glamourous to life/TV over here.

Being the kind person that I am, I'll let you keep your generous prize.
    Really,it's too much!

It's either Matt Houston or Nero Wolfe.
