Somebody told me to day that the Toyota Auris 2010 onwards burned oil and you may have to top them up between services.Anyone know if this is true?

We have one and its oil consumption is normal. It is a second car though and it would not clock up huge mileage but nothing abnormal about the oil usage. There are a few other Toyota diesels in the family and no problems there either.

The oil burning issue that plagued early VVTi Toyotas was resolved a long time before the Auris was on the scene. I wouldn't buy an Auris though because quite simply it's not a good car and has no redeeming features. It's not even that reliable either.

The 1.33 petrol is good for a small engine, but engine size isn't that important a thing these days.
Have to agree with the above, the Auris doesn't do anything (except safety) particularly well.
