Something like this would be pretty decent, able to overclock from the off if you want.

    Item|Price
    BitFenix Merc Alpha|€32.32
    Super-Flower Amazon 80Plus 450W|€45.98
    ASRock Z77 Pro3, Sockel 1155, ATX|€83.99
    2 x 4GB G.Skill RipJaws PC3-12800U CL9|€60.88
    Intel Core i5-3570K Box, LGA1155|€204.96
    Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO - Intel/AMD|€58.56
    Samsung SSD 840 120GB SATA 6Gb/s|€81.99
    PowerColor PCS+ HD7870 Myst. Edition 2GB GDDR5(UEFI READY)|€200.54
    Shipping|€18.99
    Total|€758.92

Actually thought had spent more than I had, still some cash to upgrade to upgrade to a HD7950 or the case something like that :)

PC hardware could be very different by mid-summer; post again when you're buying.

Just giving this a quick bump, my budget just went up to over 1000. I will probably use that for an extra monitor :) So any new builds would be great

When ordering the case is currently out of stock any other one i should get?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,299 ✭✭✭✭BloodBath

Pick out one yourself. There's lot's of good ones around that price range.

These are the best value imo unless you want 4 or more front usbs.

The same one in silver and black is in stock.

    Or the white and silver.

Is it a problem that the graphics cards requires 700W to run but the power supply is only 450W? . I think this is a problem :/

Not a problem at all. They are accounting for a SH*T power supply. You have both a quality PSU AND an efficient CPU (an AMD equivalent could potentially use nearly twice as much power).

Thanks for the quick reply, didn't think Bloodbath would add it if it didn't do the job :)

AMD actually recommend a 500 watt PSU for the 7950

    http://www.amd.com/us/products/desktop/graphics/7000/7950/Pages/radeon-7950.aspx

This is them accounting for the fact that many PSUs are poor quality.

The be quiet! SYSTEM POWER 7 450W is a good quality PSU and will have no problem powering that card.

Update: I have ordered and Paid for my items but some of the components are out of stock so i could be waiting a while :/. I will be ringing tomorrow to change some of the order so it will get here quicker (my current computer isnt working so i need this as soon as possible). Currently the fan and graphics card is out of order, any suggestions on replacements for these within my price range.

Works out slightly more expensive then the original parts but I didn't want to recommend parts that were of inferior quality.
These parts are just as good if not slightly better.

Just got the computer and have installed everything, but when i start the computer it starts and stops over and over? Have no Idea what the problem is :(

It seems that it starts doing it if i connect the cable to the Atx12V1, also im not getting any signal from my monitor if that helps

Make sure everything is seated correctly. Have you got a 4 or 8 pin connector for the CPU? Is this connected?

If you are using hdmi to connect the monitor you can take the gpu out and connect the display to the motherboard. If it starts the GPU is at fault.

If that does not work try just one ram stick. Try both sticks with just one of them installed.

@Gumbi I have two four's that connect together to the 8 slot

What about testing 1 ram stick at a time?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45 Thomas Tubs

the computer turned on with only one ram stick what does that mean?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,698 ✭✭✭Gumbi

the computer turned on with only one ram stick what does that mean?

You do have RAM connected to your motherboard, right? You likely have two modules, or "sticks". Try booting your computer with just one connected.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45 Thomas Tubs

I removed one ram stick from the computer and it booted, what i meant was does that mean that there is something wrong with the motherboard or that particular ram stick?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 14,983 ✭✭✭✭tuxy

When you try the other stick on its own does it boot also?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45 Thomas Tubs

both ram sticks work individually, but not together

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45 Thomas Tubs

also it seems that if i put only one ram stick into a specific slot it will start doing it again

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 14,983 ✭✭✭✭tuxy

if you put one stick into that slot it wont boot? What happens if you put the other stick in to the same slot?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45 Thomas Tubs

wont boot, seems if i have more than one ram stick or if i put a single ram stick into a specific slot, it will start turning on and off.

Looks like you might have a faulty motherboard :(
It's unusual because 9 time out of 10 a problem like this would be faulty RAM
Does anyone else have other things to try before submitting the board for RMA?

Any reason for my graphics card not showing up on the BIOS or anything?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,299 ✭✭✭✭BloodBath

Make sure the ram settings in the BIOS match the rated settings for the ram.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 45 Thomas Tubs

Sorry I am completely new to this :) Ho do i find what are the best settings to have in the BIOs for the ram?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,299 ✭✭✭✭BloodBath

It should be on the box that the ram came in. It's rated speed, voltage and main ram timings should be on the box. Just make sure the bios settings match it.

So setting the memory timing fixed the problem? Normally the default setting are enough to get you up and running. Happy you got it sorted anyway :)
