Hi I hope to fit a parrot handsfree kit in an 02 Mondeo which has a 6000 cd stereo fitted. I was told I needed a sot 074 harness adaptor but having got it the connections aren't right for the radio. Does anybody know what adaptor I need. Thanks

I'm not sure what the model numbers are but the SOT loom you need for that radio is the older Ford type. It should have 2 long flat plugs on each end (one pair for the car wiring side & one pair for radio side) The SOT loom you have might be for the newer type Fords, it'll just have one plug on either end & it'll be a large square shape.

Post up a photo of the SOT loom you have & we'll know for sure.

You have the correct SOT loom. There are 3 sockets on the radio (the 3 black sockets together on the right on the back of the radio) but you only use 2 for wiring the Parrot (one is power & one is speakers). Plug anything not connected to the SOT loom back into the radio. If there is 3 plugs on the wiring from the car, one might be for steering wheel remote control etc, just plug this back into where it came from on the radio.

They will only plug in one way so keep trying & don't force them :)

Just to let you know this worked perfectly thanks for your help.

Hi Im back with a question about the parrot ck3100. It works fine to both make and take calls, the only problem is it keeps losing the voice commands and voice tags. I have to reenter them every four or five days. It is wired correctly and says goodbye wnen the car is turned off. Any advice appreciated.

If it's saying 'Goodbye' on the display when it is turning off then it is wired correctly. I've never used voice commands or voice tags so I'm not sure what would cause them to lose memory.

Maybe you could try updating the software on the control unit (blue box). You can do this by Bluetooth if your laptop is able, but you'll still need to disconnect the box from power during the updating procedure. Check out the Parrot website for details & update software etc. If you have any problems your local Parrot agent should be able to update it for you (but they normally charge €35-€50 for it)

Go into the settings on the parrot display screen. And into version, if it says 5, you have the latest software. I updated mine the other day and 5 is the most up to date. It's been around a while.

My cousin has his fired about 4 years and his is version 5 since then.

Thanks for the replies, the software version on it at the moment is 4.17c so obviously not the latest. Is there an damage I can do by attempting to update it myself.

Sorry for hijacking your thread op but i bought a car recently that has a ck3100 in it. I can pair my phone to it no problem and it loads my phone book. If i take or make a call it invariably drops could be 20 seconds or 20 minutes in. Also like you when i set up voice commands it loses the settings could be a day or a week later. Have you found any solution.
