Alternative to wall tiles?

I'm not a fan of tiles at all and was wondering if there are alternatives to put on the walls over bath/in the shower?

Got my bath replaced so have to fix the missing tiles at the bottom so if there's other options I want to look in to them now

Mosaic, stone, plastic (PVC?) sheeting or Terrazzo http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terrazzo would seem impractical

Some bathroom manufacturers have panel-type finishes, usually in palstic.

I wouldn't use a paint finish.

Grosfillex is nice and easily maintained. We have it in downstairs loo, and has been perfect.

I like the look of the pvc wall panels. Any idea what they cost in comparison to tiles etc

Sorry for not getting back sooner. I'm afraid I can't remember what the cost was as it was done as part of a granny flat build. It was done in 2003 and is still perfect.

I'd be wary of the pvc panels. I know somwone who had them, due to an electric fault the shower went on fire. the pvc panels burnt and melted giving off a deadly black smoke and fumes. I'd stay away from them
