    :D true true, but let's help the OP.

    So New York is in GMT -5 hours time zone. Just take off 5 hours from the local Irish (GMT) time and get the New York (GMT-5) time.

    Don't forget to explain why sometimes this is not true when BST Kicks in ahead of EST daylight savings.....but then again, perhaps not!
