Has anyone seen this new ad? I thought it was funny.. :). I know, it doesn't use a Surface in the ad, and i know there are a million points it's missing, but i still found it funny. :D

Windows 8 Tablets vs. iPad Ad Forgets About Surface Pro, RT (Video)
In a new ad titled “Less talking, more doing”, Microsoft takes direct aim at Apple’s iPad. Microsoft even uses Siri’s voice to try and persuade users on why choosing a Microsoft Windows 8 tablet is a much better choice.

Microsoft begins with focusing on how Windows 8’s Live Tiles automatically update themselves, while Siri says, “sorry, I don’t update like that.” The ad shows off a user watching a video on both an iPad and a Windows 8 tablet.

It's not a Fanboy thread, or about the differences they left out, Just that i thought the ad was humorous..

Poor effort. And considered the poor OS which is challenging IOS, that says a lot!

I'm still very much interested in these tablets, but the price point is just oo high. And I'm not sure whether to go RT or fully fledged x86...

For that price I wouldn't mind getting one :-)

I just don't see the point of an iPad, is like a massive iPod. A Windows tablet is more practical

Have played with the surface. I'm very much an apple fanboy. Am 100% apple.

I'll be honest, the surface really impressed me. It's a great device.

My only issue with it is its size.

They should have gone with a mini sized one for launch to capture the multimedia market. They could have really competed with apple then.

As it is, it does everything you'd expect & does it well.

I recommended a Surface to my mother in law. She uses it mostly for basic Excel and Word (at work), then its the browser or a few apps for practically everything else.

I'm a big fan. It looks nice, has great battery, has a great screen, a surprisingly good touch keyboard and touchpad. Recent update have made it a bit quicker and have massively increased the volume so that it's great as a radio (8tracks and TuneIn radio have nice apps in the Windows 8 store). Pinning to the right while you use the desktop or Internet Explorer is pretty fancy.

If I hadn't bought a Nexus 7 last October I'd have one of these instead for around the house. The killer app is the Plex client which plugs into our Plex server and makes the surface the ultimate media consumption device.

The one thing I would say is that some of the functionality is hard to "discover" - it was a while before I copped how to switch apps quickly, pin apps to the side, close apps etc. Your natural instinct is to go back to the Desktop to do everything, when there's usually a better way of doing something with the new "Metro" start menu (if you can figure out how!)

I really wanted a surface when it launched. They released it half a year down the line. Might as well wait for the surface rt2 at this stage.

I played with the touch cover in pc world. Its surprisingly good, could type on it without looking at the keyboard. Keys are nice and easy to tell apart. Probably the best feature about it.

Too bad they chose the nasty slow and laggy Tegra processor. Even the likes of Qualcomm would have performed better.
