hi all my son has moved into an app block and wondering does anyone know is there any way of connecting up a tv without paying monthly 9
(there is a upc box ) i think he can buy some attachment in a mobile shop to connect his laptop.cheers

Saorview is free ,connect aerial to tv, with saorview built in, tune in stations,
or buy a saorview box,about 40 euro.
The aerial i got is about 6 inches high ,in dublin.
Some have recording ,function,epg program guide.
records onto a usb drive, if you buy one.

Do you know if the apt block has a communal UHF aerial for terrrestrial TV or is UPC cable the only option?

If not, he may be able to use an indoor aerial but that will depend on how good the Saorview signal is within the apartment. The only way to find out is to test a Saorview receiver (TV or STB) with an aerial like one of the following
