Very low mileage for the year if genuine though on a car of that age it becomes less relevant over the general condition of the car. Hard really to give any opinion on it though as the photos are really poor (taken too far away from the car) and the description is very minimal including no mention of any NCT.

One thing about old BMWs though is that the cooling system is a weak point on them so make sure that is working fine. I presume you are having someone mechanically knowledgeable giving it the once over?

Obviously the condition of the interior and steering wheel should stack up with the mileage advertised here. I bought a '94 e36 with 87k genuine and it was like new inside.

I know e46's have a tamper dot that illuminates beside the odometer if the mileage has been adjusted. I think a lot of e36's have it as well. Have a look for "BMW tamper dot" to see what you're looking for.

The only major thing Ive had to do with mine was to get a new water pump early on. Apart from that its only been normal wear n tear items likes bearings, brake pads and belts that have needed to be done.

Being an auto more than likely means boy racers haven't owned it but it won't help with fuel consumption being a 1.8.

My best advice is bring someone who knows these cars with you to have a look at it. Head over to http://www.bmw-driver.net/forum/index.php where I'm sure you will get help!

For me the E36 are the last of the hardy 3 series, the engines will go for 250K easily if minded, just watch out for cooling issues, rust and front bushing wear. At a 1000 euro the price is too high, I picked up a 98 with aircon, leather and the usual extras for 700 with only 90,000 on the clock.

Nct is up this Month, I'm really unsure on this as I have only really owned smaller cars and most of them where Jap cars.

She wants 900 which im not going to pay, I would offer 800 at most.

Rad being replaced is kinda a good sign, they do go old and need to be replaced eventually.
It'll probably last until you scrap the car. My rad on a 1993 e36 lasted 20 years before the rust got bad enough to warrant its replacing.

From a cost to run perspective the Bimmer will break your heart if your used to jap cars.

Keep an eye on the bangernomics thread. That volvo is far better value http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056924921&page=52
