richer sounds have one with a built in phono stage... http://richersounds.ie/asp/product.asp?ObjectID=938&Mode=0&CategoryID=2&sub=20&productid=919

depending on your amp you may need a phono stage too.

Can be difficult to reconcile these two statements buying new.

    Budget?

Go on donedeal.ie and search "turntable". Lads are always lookin to get rid of their decks and some of them are reasonably priced. Or if you're lookin for something cheap you could get one of those vinyl to mp3 decks out of argos or maplin.

    Now that's more like it!

For a moment there I thought I'd wandered into 'Lo-Fi & All-In-One Boomboxes' by mistake.

    :D

1210 mk2 are not a bad deck. They are for DJs really. The platter is OK - but the stock tonearm is a bit agricultural. Not easy to swap out the tonearm.
