did you bleed the clutch system using a vacuum system or manually?

its been bled upwards downwards sideways every which way with a pressure bleeder and the traditional way, spoke to a man up north who races them and he thinks i've bent the clutch fork, which is making the diagphram release to one side making the clutch drag

Look like no option but to open it up again then. Good luck with it.

It is possible in old BMCs to fit the clutch plate the wrong way round on to the splines!

2nd time the engine was out was to check that! not possible without a fight in an mgb. clutch fork is sligltly twisted, making the release bearing not sit square on the diaphgram and not releasing the fingers evenly, thats the latest theory.....

now sorted, thankfully! turns out the new out of the wrapper borg and beck clutch pressure plate was faulty, it was only releasing one half of the plate when the clutch was pressed.

most garages these days would only have metric sockets and spanners which wouldn't be much use on your car
