The past year has been a phenomenal one. From small beginnings with Tim Mason and Max Vangeli + AN21 in The Village to the massive sellout shows with the likes of Hardwell and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike in The Wright Venue, it has been a constant pleasure to provide tailored dance nights for house fans all over Ireland.

We’ve achieved more than we ever thought possible, undoubtedly down to the unbelievable support we’ve received from Ireland’s ever expanding dance community. For our first birthday celebrations we thought it was fitting to host it in the venue where it all started. A big part of Residence has always been the interaction with those who attend our events. We actively listen to every request, every challenge, and every demand that comes our way. We constantly strive to bring you something above the norm, memorable nights to match your passion for electronic music.

With this in mind we’ve put together our first birthday lineup. On Friday June 14th W&W (easily the most requested act we’ve had) and Tom Staar (a personal favourite of the Residence crew) will take to the stage in The Village. They will be joined by our very own Yunisun who have played a part in many of our biggest shows this year.

    W&W | BIO
Quote of Armin van Buuren early 2010:“W&W are truly the rising stars of trance. If I have to put my money on somebody, I put it on W&W.”

What started as a chance meeting at the 2007 Trance Energy has, in just under 4 years, solidified into one of the freshest, most exciting electronic dance acts on the scene. With it has come a new multifarious trance sound that, globally, has begun to shatter underground clubs, arenas and festivals. Banding together under the name W&W has seen the collective careers of Ward van der Harst & Willem van Hanegem go into overdrive.

2011 was when it all started to take off for the duo with the release of their debut album on Armada Music. ‘Impact was a massive success for the two and propelled them onto bigger and better things. Since then stompers like Lift Off and The Code have attracted hoards of new followers for the Dutchmen, the big room sound of their productions garnering widespread praise. Recent collaborations with aforementioned Armin and mainroom dynamo Hardwell have placed them in pole position as the new generation of dance talent.

Alongside W&W will be Tom Staar, a name that has shot to prominence over the past two years. As a founding member of the dynamic Moda collective, he has played a huge part in creating one of the UK's most exciting new music brands, alongside Jaymo & Andy George. With an emphasis on taking the freshest electronic music to all corners of the planet, via every means possible the crew have dominated the airwaves this year with everything from deep house to mainroom bangers.

With a recent release schedule that includes remixes for the likes of Tommy Trash, Afrojack and SHM the man’s production skills are in high demand of late. Throw in original tracks on Mau5trap (The moniker of Deadmau5) and Mixmash Records with Kingdom and you start to get the idea of just how successful the past 12 months have been for the Englishman. With all this in mind there is no better time to welcome to Irish shores one of dance music’s freshest talents!
