One solicitor says one thing, another says something completely different...?

    Hi,

Just wondering what I can do about this...I have had a solicitor for just over the past year advise me on a will that I am executor of & a dispute within the family regarding this will.

Recently I had a feeling something wasn't right regarding the advice he was giving me & went to another solicitor to have a look at the details of the will & the dispute, to see if I was being advised correctly.

One meeting with this new solicitor & I am now aware that I don't have a leg to stand on & the problem with the will isn't disputable at all & the other member of my family is right.

I am trying not to give too much details as I am aware of the rules on this board, but my problem is with my original solicitor billing me for over a year for doing nothing & giving incorrect advice, especially when one meeting with another solicitor was all it took to straighten things out about this will.

Is there anything I can do about getting incorrect advice from my original solicitor?
I am annoyed as he knows I am relying heavily on him as I am not the best at legal issues, surely it is his job to not lead me astray for over a year?

    Thanks!

You could ask your new solicitor to take up the file and deal with all matters, to include the issue of the previous solicitor's bill.
