Certificate of Destruction / End of Life Cert

    Hi All
I'm looking to scrap my car but I want to keep my wheels.
The problem is that my local Authorised Treatment Facility(ATF) won't take the car without wheels and won't let me take the wheels off once they collect it.

Does anyone know if it is possible to obtain a certificate of destruction/end of life cert (for tax refund) without having having the car scrapped in the ATF. For instance if I was to sell the car for parts instead or sell parts of the car?

    Ya, I thought of that.
TBH I don't have the know how to change wheels.
I tried last night and couldn't even move the nut which suggests a nut lock and I have no way to open it.
Plus I'd rather not have to plow any more money into the car at all if possible.

So how do you plan on keeping the wheels if you cannot get them off or don't want to spend money on getting them off?

My main goal at this stage isn't the wheels as I'm sure I could get them off with a bit of research but getting my certificate of destruction without leaving the car with a treatment facility. and getting it ASAP to get the maximum tax refund possible

If hand over the car for scrap I'll lose all access to the car parts.

you can only get a cert of destruction from an atf. Theres no other way of getting a CoD legally

Stick it up on donedeal and adverts and say you'll only give it away without tyres.
Someone might trailer it home and you're rid of it, and someone have got some free spare parts.
Don't give them the logbook though, sign and send away yourself as usual.

Getting wheels off doesn't require research only a big thick aul buck and a tyre iron
