Apple format .MOV to Windows Format .MOV

I have some videos in Apple format .MOV files that will only play as audio on a windows machine. My research has led me to believe that there is an Apple format and a windows format that aren't mutually compatible.

I don't have access to an Apple only a windows PC. Is there any way to convert them so that audio and video are available on Windows?

    Many thanks.

I have never had a problem playing .mov files on either machines. Have you tried using VLC player?

It's probably a codec issue. Download divx player and it should have the codecs required

    Yes I tried VLC.

The videos play but I only get audio.

Just download K-Lite Mega Codec pack. I've never had a problem playing MOVs in WMP with that.

Combined Community Codec Pack. Not met a video it cannot play.

Just use XBMC, I am 100% it will play it or any file type you throw at it.
