hi, i have a combi box running a free to air sat dish, and a basic outdoor aerial for my rts tv3 ...ect. all works fine but lately i have sometimes been losing my RTEs TVSs ect..but the sats are fine. they just go, and all i get is a no signal notice on the screen. usually when i switch on next day all is fine again, its just that it seems to be happening more often. i cant see any loose connections on the box or tv. anyone have any ideas?

If there isn't a dodgy connection or cable somewhere, then it's possible the aerial installation was always just delivering a marginal signal & it would only take a small drop for it to lose reception.

Could be leaves coming on trees or something. How long have you had this aerial setup?

the aireal is old alright but i never have had any trouble with it, it looks in good shape, not rusted or falling apart. when the channels do come back the reception is very good.

Digital reception is 'all or nothing'. When the signal is good enough to be decoded properly, you will have apparently 'perfect' reception. Some receiver quality metres will show 100% when the signal is only just good enough to provide stable viewing.

It only takes a small drop in signal & you'll get 0% & no picture.
