    Hi All,

Can anyone help advise on the typically interview questions Mazars ask for a tax trainee job? Have an interview coming up and really want to do my best! Also any tips/pointers on the aptitude test?

I had an interview with them back in October although I applied for audit. For me it was a pretty straight forward interview. The managers who interviewed me were nice and relaxed and they didn't try to throw me off with any off-the-wall questions.

Be prepared for an opening question of something along the lines of "tell me about yourself", then asking you why do you want to do tax etc..

They are most likely to throw in a few competency-based questions as well. I think they asked me about how did I prioritize work when given multiple tasks and to explain a time when I had to deal with an awkward client/colleague etc... So basically the usual teamwork, leadership, problem-solving competency-type questions. Of course, your experience might be completely different!

Like yourself, I was a bit worried about the aptitude tests and at the end of my interview I even asked about how important they were as part of the recruitment process and tell said not to worry about it (which makes me wonder why they want candidates to do them in the first place!)

    Hope this helps.

Thanks so much for your reply! Really helpful. What kind of questions did you ask at the end? I done an interview a while back and the questions that I asked they covered in the interview & it made it look like I had no interest/preparation done.
