I think its a troll as well. I made the mistake of posting on the thread, but I won't again. Either that or it's some one with far too much time on their hands, and you will never, no matter how hard you try, talk them down via the wonderful medium that is boards.ie.

An irish solution to an irish problem: turn a blind eye to it.

i didn't want to post but i had a quick read that is quite a serious statement to call lads only doing there job. either way i think the thread should be closed. she has reported it to all the proper body's she got no reply back i am sure one of them investigated it. and the lack of reply would make me think there was no wrong doing. silly thread putting down our soldiers.

No in the Defence Forces or connected to the OP in the other thread.

    Some things don't make sense:
I AM 100 % SURE THEY ARE LOOKING AT ME AS THEY WAVED AT ME AND THE CHILDREN and i do have pictures of this

If you were perving on kids you certainly would be dumb to acknowledge it with a wave.

So if they did wave they were just being genuine and trying to come across as fellow human beings to the civilians - be they kids or adults.

All sounds a bit of a mad story. I wouldn't worry about it.

Reminds me of a story from Colchester many moons ago, about a sergeant in the WRAC [wimmin's army] complaining that squaddies were exposing themselves to her and making rude gestures.

An investigation officer from the RMP interviewed her, and discovered it was supremely difficult to see from her bunk into the lad's shower block due to the sun angle and the light off their window, which was usually open to let the steam out. Only at one time of day was the light 'just right', and a view through the window was possible, but only by standing on a chair and using a decent set of binoculars. Visiting the room, he found that the chair had actually been placed on a writing desk, and the binoculars were still on the chair......

    Hmmm.

Some pretty stupid advice in the thread such as advising the OP to point a camera at the prison. Clearly they've no clue that is exactly the sort of thing the soldiers are looking for. People spying on the prison.

It never ceases to amaze how thick people can be.

I live right next to Cork Airport. When the Queen visited the fields next to my house had about 2 dozen soldiers observing in them and no doubt observing me as I was cutting the grass out the back, when one was close enough I waved, got 2 waves back and was interesting to just see all the goings on there, especially with the Temp. base they set up near the back of my house.
Cant say I felt spied on! :D

if anything that woman should feel safer having a section or two of soldiers observing the area in question
