HDMI to USB?

Hi Basically I have a tv, few years old, with no USB port on it. It has HDMI ports. Is it possible to convert a HDMI port to USB so I can plus in a memory stick and watch movies? If I can covert the HDMI to USB, is it as simple as just watching the movie thats on the USB??

i had the same problem a few years back and solved it with a cyclone primus http://www.amazon.co.uk/Cyclone-Micro-MultiMedia-Player-Adaptor/dp/B00534L3B8/ref=pd_sim_computers_3 im sure there are other boxes out there..but this one for me worked great

What you asked to do is impossible. No question about it.

What you'll need is something like the poster above linked. A separate device to play the videos through.
