Saorview Now&Next info stuck on 19:00-20:00 Now programmme info (18:45-00:00 on RTÉjr) and 20:00-21:00 Next programme info (00:00-06:00on RTÉjr) from last night but the epg is correct.

My brother attempted to record with the Walker PVR last night but did not record. Tried to live record now but nothing happening.

    Anyone else having this problem?

YES - I saw this last night with a Walker WP645TS-HD combi box (USB memory stick for recording). Wasn't able to check any other receivers.

Recording would not work - a prompt came up saying "An unexpected error prevented the timer from being scheduled" (I wasn't even using the timer, I attempted to record something I was watching.)

I disconnected/reconnected mains power to see if that made any difference - no.

So if you had to record something from Irish TV via Saorview last night you would have had to use a VCR or DVD recorder etc hooked up to the box!

Future recordings can be setup via the Walker PVR's epg but with the Now & Next fault no recordings are triggered, same for live recording.

Had the same problem last night on a set top adapter - problem must be at the Saorview end

Sorted now. Now & next innfo back to normal and the PVR automatically started recording the the live recording I attempted earlier.

This was happening last night for me but just on my Samsung TV. Kept saying the time was 7pm and it was near midnight. It seemed to correct itself though around midnight-ish but it certainly seems to be a problem on their end rather than a user fault.

    Yes.

I had this problem with the now/next on Monday night with the Triax TSC 114. The Saorview EPG on it was grand as expected. I also checked the now/next for the satellite channels & they were all fine.

I didn't realise that there was a problem with the recordings either.

It was probably just a hardware fault with some transmitter. Good to see it all resolved now.

I didn't realise that there was a problem with the recordings either.

Recording impossible with the above mentioned Walker receivers during the Saorview network's now/next fault.
It's possible other receivers might still have allowed live recording but without any autostopping at the end of the programme during that network fault?
Quite annoying that the Walker would not record at all - could it not have allowed live recording of the broadcast with a prompt at start saying that the user will have to manually stop the recording at the end due to a network error?

Annoying alright, I tried to record Morning Edition on RTÉ1 yesterday morning but received no warning that the programme could not be recorded, once the Now&Next fault was fixed the programme started recording automatically.

Saorview Now&Next info stuck in the 11:00-12:00 slot again, not possible to record with the Walker PVR.

Edit: Sorted about 15 mins ago.
I assume someone from RTÉNL/Saorview is looking at boards, if so is this going to be a regular occurrence?

slightly off topic here, i have noticed on my saorview text recently i can now get the small picture of the current tv show i am watching in the top right hand part of the text screen, i could not get this before, did they do an upgrade or something.
can someone tell me does saorview turn my tv on for about 20 seconds at around 3am and also around 6am as i can hear the same noise the tv makes when i turn it on manually as if i am pressing the standby button on the remote,

My brother told me today this happened again on Monday, now & next stuck at around the midday programme info and wasn't resolved until maybe 8 hrs later resulting in several missed Saorview recordings in that house. Not a happy house considering that they cancelled Sky several months ago when the Saorview PVR became available and now this series of fcuk-ups.

That also reminds me of something else that happened on the last Bank Holiday Mon morning, my 2 young nephews were staying over and early that morning they switched on the TV and told me RTÉ 7 wasn't working (RTÉ 7 being RTÉjr), when I checked later the channel was displaying the "RTÉ1+1 is currently off-air" caption that appears on the RTÉ1+1 channel when programming ends each night. The now and next info was correct for RTÉjr but no programming. It eventually got sorted before 9am.

Looking very amateurish for a service running over two and a half years now.

I've said it before and will ask again, does anyone actually monitor what they broadcast? How many times over the years have we seen picture faults, sound faults, open mics, etc that don't get fixed until someone rings up to complain.

Now & next info back to normal for now. No doubt we'll be back here again in the not too distant future.
