Hi, I'm just looking for help with this problem. I've only just copped that it's most likely over use of the internet that has caused the unhappiness in my life for the last 6 years and a general turn to being a very introverted person (I know its ironic that im posting this on the internet but still). At about 12 years of age I was a very popular kid and even for that age I would have been expected to be the type to go on and make many friends - but then we got the internet at home and it's been downhill since then. I used porn all the time online as a substitute for real women since 15 years of age and this has caused me problems sexually. I think it may have also numbed my pleasure response if that makes any sense. As in, I wasn't ever getting any pleasure out of something like a good conversation with someone - and generally started to avoid social situations unless there was alcohol involved (that's the only time the person I want to be seems to make an appearance anymore - happy, positive, outgoing, funny). I've only given porn up in the last few weeks. I'm just wondering how I go about spending less time on the internet in general? In this day and age it seems impossible - it's how most people communicate and I need it to a certain extent for college etc. It's how events are organized. I know I need to drastically reduce my use of the internet but I honestly don't know what I will do instead :( I'm not sure how widespread the problem of internet addiction is, but I have an inkling that it's more common than expected. Any hep would be nice. Thanks
