ESTA Error Message

Just applied for an ESTA and got this message:

A valid, approved application with more than 30 days remaining has been found for this passport. Submitting this application will require payment for this application and will then cancel the existing application.

I went to the US in 2010 and am returning on holiday in 2 weeks. Does that mean I just reapply for a new one?

By the message it would seem that you have an ESTA already.

    Try this site https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/esta/application.html?execution=e1s1

It will allow you view your current ESTA

They're telling you that you have a valid ESTA for your current passport and since the approval is valid for two years, you must have applied for ESTA since your last trip - did you plan a trip, get a new ESTA and then not travel?

Go in and attempt to update your existing ESTA with a destination zip code for your next trip, it should tell you when your current ESTA expires.

It's a multi-trip approval so as long as it's current, you can still travel.

Thanks all. Seems I already have one. Expires 2014. Forgot I had applied.
