Are HP the only laptop makers that have a complete recovery system on a partition , if I'm putting it right.?

It is a real boon for reformatting the whole shebang which I'm told is quite good for your pc once in a while.

No they aren't. I have it on my Dell and have had it on my old Lenovo too.

Most netbooks have this , windows os recovery from hidden partition .
if theres no virus,s on a laptop it should not be necessary to do a recovery.
Windows should run ok, if theres 2gig ram, at least 3gig free space on drive c.
EVERY time you do a windows, os, recovery you have to download security updates all over again.
