I suggest you post up a phone number preferably the one of the Garda station dealing with it (or your own if you wish) in case of the off chance it's seen a quick call is easier than logging on/finding thread/pming etc :D

Really hope he gets it back :(

Sorry to hear that :( ill keep an eye open. I'm near the docks during the day so I'll report if I spot it..

A work mates black 2006 530d was taken from near mount merrion (I think) last Thursday morning also.

    No keys or anything missing..

This BMW security issue seems to be fairly real.

:(:(:mad: Scumbag lowlifes. You can have nothing nice with wastes like that around. I'll keep an eye out myself(live in the general area), though as you say it's probably far away by now, or left parked to see if it has a tracker fitted(often in residential underground carparks). Years ago a mate of mine spotted a suspish Audi in his apartments carpark and reported it and it turned out to be stolen. Hope your brother in law gets it back.

I thought the BMW issue only affected certain models? If it's a wider issue and they don't need the keys like in Cheensbo's example that's a worry. Though as the head of BMW in the UK noted it's a general issue of vulnerability not just with them. I did read BMW UK forums at the time and the guys who had aftermarket alarms didn't get taken(though attempts were made).

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.
