Plum Hair - What to wear?

    Hi guys,

I have just dyed my hair a quiet bright stand-outish plum / red colour (more plum really) and I am just looking for advice on what colours clothes wise would look best with this kind of color??

I woke up this morning for work and in the depression / pandemonium that was Monday morning :( I threw on a pink top without thinking twice....don't think it looks as nice as it once did with the new hairstyle.

Any tips or advice you have would be great :)

    Cheers :o

    Hi smellyeve!
I had plum hair a couple of years ago and found that paler, more neutral colours suited it best: pale silvery grey, whites, creams and beiges, and navy rather than black etc. but I found more pastel colours looked awful with the plum, no pinks or lilacs for me, although a pale mint green top was a favourite at the time so might be worth a try! Mad how a change of hair colour can make half your wardrobe obsolete overnight!

    Dee mc,

    Thanks for the tips.
I know, I never thought about how such a change would impact the likes of my warderobe and what would and would not suit me anymore - but if nothing else it's an excuse to go shopping :)
    Cheers!

Depending on your complexion, sapphire blues and turquoises could be nice?

Thanks Rosy Posy, I have typically Irish skin - pale and frekles, although the frekles don't show up on my face. Also have very deep green eyes (not painitng a great pic here!!)

Could you find a pic/put up a link to the colour hair you have?

I think greens and blues and greys would be lovely on you, it sounds like a nice combo.

A pair of pyjamas complemented with a pair of fake uggs seems to suit plum hair.

Smellyeve, that's a really cool hair colour. What dye did you use?

I'd say what everyone else suggested is a good idea.

Love the hair colour, what did you use? I would go with greens and greys to compliment this colour best.

From a nudist perspective I would say nada, not a single thread.I am not,nor have any aspirations to become a nuddy, but seeing as you are of a pale complective persuasion,I for one think it would be a very worthwhile concatenation :D

I got my hair coloured by a hairdresser, I think she usually uses the Wella color book....also my hair was fairly processed, a lot of colouring and straightening but my hairdresser said this is helpfull for the likes of these red and purple colours as it seems to stick better.

Thanks for all the tips guys, bar the pj's and nude suggestions I think we are on to a few winners, thanks again :)
