I was in Cork School of Music at the weekend and noticed a golf shop just up the street on Union Quay. I never noticed it there before. I didn't have time to go in on Saturday but would be interested to know if anyone has any info/opinions on this place.

Is this a functioning golf shop?
If it's the unit on the corner of Copley Street, under the car park, it could be original site of the Pro Shop. The one which then moved to Sth Douglas Rd and closed recently.

It's under the carpark alright but I think it was a coffee shop until a couple of months ago. There's no sign over the door but there is a load of bags/clubs in the window.

Came across a few Ads in DoneDeal last night with a reference to Batt Murphy PGA 1 Union Quay Cork. I assume that this is the guy that has this new shop.

The opening hours are in some of the Done Deal ads. I wonder if this is a temporary setup to sell surplus stock or a long-term plan?

    Opening Hours
    Monday 13.00 to 16.00
    Tuesday Closed
    Wednesday Closed
    Thursday 10.30 to 16.00
    Friday 10.30 to 16.00
    Saturday 10.30 to 15.00

Pretty casual hours anyway isn't it? You'd think he'd stay open late on a Friday and open a full day Saturday!!

Batt's the ex-pro in Monkstown. Had a shop in the same location in Union Quay years ago but then moved to the South Douglas Road, which has since closed down. I don't know whether this is a temporary set up or not, will let you know if I find out.

Correct - it's a "pop-up" version of The Pro Shop, formerly of Dosco Business Park - although I was not aware that this was the original site of The Pro Shop. I called in yesterday and was pleasantly surprised by the range and prices, although I was strictly browsing, not buying.

Anybody know if this shop is still there?
Heading to cork tomorrow and am looking for a super stroke mid 2.0 putter grip. American golf and Nevada bobs seem to only have the larger ones.

Cheers juansheet but they don't have them. Was going to run with the larger one in American golf but they can't fit it until tomorrow, which is no good to me. Luckily Killarney golf club have them and I can call tomorrow.
