    Hey folks,

Hopefully basic question here. Started work at end of Feb. Get paid every month. I've only applied for rent relief. Was on social welfare from Nov to Feb

I just noticed that my PAYE has increased by €70 for this month compared to last month? I have a feeling it's because I only started in Feb and something something tax credits? Just want to be sure.

    Thanks

A possible reason is that you might be on "Emergency tax".
This could happen if your employer doesn't have a certificate of tax credits for you. Check with him/her and if necessary contact your local tax office with both your own and your employer's PPS number. Ask that a cert be issued.
Another reason is that your tax credits might have been adjusted because of your DSP receipts. In that case, you don't need to do anything (as far as I'm aware).

Thanks but I don't think this is it. I rang the tax office back in Feb and the cert was issued and everything on PAYE online looks correct. Might be easier just to check with work here.
