They are big and heavy so they tend wear heavy on the suspension and brakes.

Check to see there is still life in the discs and pads and where possible try to see if there is excessive play in any of the suspension joints. If you are not handy with the spanners you could end up spending a few quid getting it sorted if there are issues there.

Tyres for these are approx a grand a set so make sure they are in good nick.
If the rear suspension is still aligned as per factory spec then there will be negative camber on the rear wheels which causes the insides of the tyres to wear quicker. This is also what gives it better handling compared to more 'agricultural' 4x4s.

E53 didn't have 'swirl flaps' fitted so that's a plus.

I have a pre facelift ('03) as my daily driver and it's a very nice place to be. I get approx 31mpg according to the trip computer but I do a fair bit of my driving on the M50.

Tyres will take a pounding on these (and other big heavy jeeps too) and will be pricey.

Yummy mummy doesn't need leather for the school run. It's sitting up high "look at me" that's the most important.
That said why anyone would go and form out 60k plus on a basic spec car is beyond me.

Just saw its a commercial. Makes sense not having leather.

Looks like grey leather, but it is a standard SE spec. 31mpg, you must have a light foot, I got around 24mpg in mine.
