hi all im planning yo reseed 4 acres, i was wondering the settings, i was told that the opening in the bottom should be the size of a half inch pipe??? also how far should i drive between the rows. i have a 5 bag vicon. thanks

Hi jd there should be old threads on it here if you do a search, it depends a bit on how fast you drive and how worn the bottom plate is, I think it is set at 6, but not 100% sure, and only about a metre between wheel tracks. Some ppl say a windy day is better. Put in one bag and mark the level on the hopper with a permanant marker anyway.

Hi JD06,
Just had a look at our old Vicon wagtail, its only used for grass seed now so setting not changed for years. The first "nick" on the settings is marked as "0" and the stopper is set in the 11th nick. This will put on 1 and a half bags of seed per acre at PTO speed in High 1st with a Fiat 90-90.( fiat is 1986 and top speed is 19mph) Driving about 4 foot between wheel tracks.
