    Intel Core i3-2120 Box, LGA1155

    AMD Radeon HD 7750

    Super-Flower Amazon 80Plus 450W

    Seagate Barracuda 7200 500GB SATA 6GB's

    BitFenix Merc Beta

    BenQ G2255

    ASRock H61M/U3S3 (B3), Sockel 1155, mATX

    8GB-Kit G.Skill PC3-10667U CL9

^^Those are my current specs. It's a gaming PC and basically I'm looking to increase performance with a budget of €500 - €600. I was thinking along the lines of an i5 processor and a new graphics card which will probably mean ill have to upgrade the PSU as well. I also need a new HDD as my current one is almost full.

Your PSU is more than fine. It'll be a bit of an inefficient upgrade, as your mobo is not capable of overclocking, which is one of the biggest benefits of an i5. The main diff you'll see with an i5 is the addition of 2 cores, clock speeds will be virtually the same.

I'd clear out your current HDD if you can. Defrag, run cleanup programmes like ccleaner etc. Get as much out of I as you can. And get a 128/256GB SSD for Windows and some other progs/games.

You will see a big benefit from a new graphics card, though. A 7850 would be nice. I'm not suggesting huge upgrades really, as I think going to a non-OCable i5 would make anything faster than a 7850 not worthwhile. I would spend no more than 2/3 hundred quid now and save up for a bigger upgrade later.

Wait for some more suggestions, though, definitely.

If it was me I'd sell the MB, CPU and GPU on Adverts.ie. Then wait and get a i5 Haswell with a new 1150 MB. Nvidia are bringing out new GPU's so, I'd see what they had to offer. With money left over I'd get a CPU cooler (H100i) and maybe a nicer case.

You don't need to do this though. A new GPU would do the trick for you and a nice monitor. But, that's what i'd do if I had the money burning a hole in my pocket.

Specs for the 7850 say it needs a 500 watt PSU..... would 450 watt still be ok?

For monitors, if I upgrade my graphics card is it worth getting a monitor with HDMI input?

I'm also wondering if an SSD is really worth it? I'm not too bothered about having super quick boot times and load times, my main interest is an increase in gaming performance.

This would do nicely. I'd pick up an extra case fan or 2 for the case as well. There's overclocking potential with this i5 as well.

Around 4.5 is easy enough with that cpu cooler.

Power wise there's no issue even with overclocking the cpu and gpu you would be looking at around 350w max used.
