What topics are you studying for the P1 essay? Are you learning off the essays or just phrases? I'm studying politics, Ireland today, drugs, alcohol, the Irish language, the gathering and media. I don't know if that's enough so would like to hear your thoughts

That's more than enough there; you'll manage to fit drugs into nearly every essay title :pac:
I'm mainly doing phrases and vocab - there's not at hope in hell I'd be learning off even a paragraph word for word, the risk is much greater than the reward whereas if you put in the same amount of work learning phrases you'll be far better off. But hey, to each its own I guess.
I'm doing drugs/alcohol, crime, Irish language, the media and poverty.

Bhí an teach chomh ciúin le luch mar bhí gach duine ina gcoladh go sámh. Ní raibh mé abálta aon rud a dhéiceail ach mo mála mór líonta sa chúinne.Rug me greim fíochmhar ar an mála agus bhí me reidh. Bhí me ar bhuile le mo mháthair mar dúirt sí liom go raibh sí I ndeireadh na feide liom agus gur fadhb mór me sa chlann.

Go tobann, léim me de gheit mar bhí mo dhearthair ó gag stanadh orm. Chuir sé cúpla céist orm faoin áit a riabh mé ag dul. Leath mo shúile le deora agus d’fhág mé slán leis. Ag dul amach an doras ar mo bharraicíní bhí me ag déanamh iarracht na deora a choimead istigh ach theip orm. Ach ní raibh mé ábalta fanacht sa teach sin a feadh nóimead eile.

Tar éis cúpla la ní raibh post ar bith agam agus ní raibh a lán airgead fágtha agam ach oiread.

Chaith mé breis is dhá uair a chloig ag stánadh ar an trácht agus pian díochmhar I mo bholg leis aan ocras. Tar éis tamaill thus mé faoi deara bean beag aosta ag druidim liom. Thosaigh sí ag caint liom faoin a saol agus tabhacht an chlann freisin. D’inis mé mo scéal di agus bhí a fhios agam gur duin tuiscineach cliste í. Thug sí comhairle maith do magus tar eis cúpla uair bhí me ar an mbád abhaile.

Nuair a shroic me an teach bhí mo dhearthair ó gag súgradh sa ghairdín. Ba bheag nár this sé I laige nuair a chonaic sé mé. Rith se i mo threo agus thug sé póg mór dom. Bhí faoiseamh an domhain ar mo mháthair ach ag an am chéanna bhí sí ar buile liom. Thug sí íde na muc is na maidrí dom. Gan amhras ar bith chodail mé go sámh an oíche sin.

Could anybody tell me the main points you'd include in an essay on Oideachas?? I did an essay on it in the mocks but got marked down a fair bit for my ideas so I feel like I must be missing a fairly obvious point...:pac:

I probably did the same essay in the mocks, I mentioned the pressure the points system puts on people (you could bring in them turning to alcohol/drugs as a result, I didn't but it's an idea, obviously not for too long but a few lines ), how scruduithe are just terrible things, cuts from the government lowering the standard, how all of these factors are causing companies to leave Ireland because people dont have the necessary skills and how this is a bad thing for the country so it needs to be changed blah blah and then to finish on a positive note said how there's hope with the new JC and maybe if it goes well we'll have a new Ardteist. Got 90 with that so I'd say that'd hopefully be grand.

Dunno how I forgot to include the government angle.. most of my Irish essays include blaming them at some stage Anyways, thanks
