Porterhouse/American Porter

Hi. I'm turning into a bit of a beer nerd, so I keep a record of all the beers I've tried. I drank an American Porter in the Porterhouse last week but I can't remember the name of it. There's not a huge selection of porters there so I'm hoping someone might know the name of it. I won't be in Dublin again for another few weeks so I want to find out before I forget. It was in a little small fat bottle. Thanks.

It was great! I'm looking forward to having another few.

I've just been on Beer Advocate and it seems like it's one of the more well regarded porters. That means I'm not the nerd I thought I was. Yet.

I also wanted to try the Brooklyn Chocolate Stout but it was €7.20 for a long neck. A little too rich for my blood.

The Brooklyn is pricey but it's also 10% abv, it's something I'd rather take my time to enjoy on the couch in front of the fire than in a bar! It's a very good imperial stout.

Yeah you're right. They're only €3.35 on Drink Store so I'll get a few sent out to me. Sit back and enjoy.

I actually didn't realise it was an Imperial Stout. I've tried a few chocolate stouts so that's why it caught my eye. I'm even more intrigued now.

Brooklyn Chocolate Stout is very nice, although I got them for €1.99 a go when the wine shop beside my gf's house sold them at the same price as all their other beers. Felt like I was robbing the place. :P

I had a bottle of the Brooklyn chocolate stout a few weeks ago and found it very overpowering. Maybe I needed to sip it?

of course you need to sip it, it's 10%abv!

I agree. It's a taste sensation, not a thirst quencher.
